GESL Update 12th December 2010

Hi all,

Hope examinations have been friendly to you. :) It's finally over, so please do have a good rest! But before we all officially break off for holidays, we need to finish up our GESL first. These are the following updates required as of today, 12th December 2010. It is a long post, so please ensure that you've noticed every point mentioned.

1) Meeting on 14th December 2010 - This meeting is very important as we will be sharing with everyone the progress of all events and concluding our preparation for all events. ICs of the respective stations, please be prepared to share on your respective stations. The agenda is as follows:
  • Overall update on current funding
  • Offical thank you for contribution
  • Confirmation of attendance for three days
  • Confirmation of roles and responsibilities (for official purpose)
  • Overall update on Photography Workshop (sequence of events, attendance)
  • Overall update on Amazing Race (amount given, food arrangement, game rules, roles, setting off, things venturers must take note of, things station ics must take note of, closure of program, safety issues, sequence of events)
  • Overall update on Amazing Race - Marina Barrage (logistics, station, unsettled issues, wet weather program, what venturers are to do upon reaching)
  • Overall update on Amazing Race - Choa Chu Kang Park
  • Overall update on Amazing Race - West Coast Park
  • Overall update on Amazing Race - Kallang Leisure Park
  • Overall update on gallery finale - possibility of change of day, possibility of extension, sale of bookmarks, required documents, attendance, theme, sequence of events
2) Loan of Digital Camera (for 1st and 2nd day) - For the photography workshop, we are hoping that we can loan each student 1 digital camera so that they have a direct hands on. We've requested for the students to bring their own, if possible, but we do need some standbys just in case we run short of cameras. Kindly drop me an sms if you don't mind lending your cameras. This is NOT compulsory. :)

3) Submission of form - I've received some of your replies on the form I've posted earlier, but will require the rest of yours. Kindly feel it up by tomorrow, 13th December so that we can collate the numbers and plan staffing/food arrangements.

4) Transport Recce - We will hold our transport recce tomorrow, 13th December starting at 9am. The meeting time will be communicated to you via SMS shortly.

5) Reflections - We're each required to do a self reflection on this project, so you can start thinking about the following points which will need to be included in your reflections and our final group report:

  • My undertaken ROLE in this GESL project
  • What I've learnt from this GESL project (in terms of Service learning, group dynamics etc)
  • How my outlook towards things have changed (if there is any change) after doing this GESL project
  • How I feel I have contributed
  • What I feel I could have done better
  • What are my future hopes for this GESL project (sustainability etc)
Thank you so, so much! Have a great rest, and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday. :)

Best Regards,
Bryan
